Happy weekend, Bees! I swore I wouldn’t write an entry of this sort, but… I’m having an emotional roller coaster of a week (thanks, hormones), and need reassurance. Or just straight up honesty haha.
Short story: Went dress shopping for the first time back in February. I am not a girly girl, I’ve never even worn a prom dress, but I actually had FUN wedding dress shopping!
I found “my dress” on that first visit. I wasn’t planning on it, but I loved the dress, and everyone that was with me said it was “the one”. I’m not easily persuaded by others opinions, I FELT that dress was right, so that’s why I got it. Looking back at the pics we took, though, I’m wondering if I should’ve gone a little more traditional? I wanted something form fitting, but I keep looking at a ballgown I tried on and didn’t HATE haha.
So the first dress is my “runner up” dress. Unfortunately, I don’t know the designer, but it was a satin ballgown, ivory, with scoopneck and beading. I felt really nice in it, I LOVE the beading on the bodice and train, and I LOVE the ruching on the bust. But I felt it was too… formal. We’re not getting married in a church, but if we were, I’d have picked THIS gown to wear:
Then there’s MY dress… Casablanca 1985. The sample was champagne in color, but I ordered ivory. I love the beadwork, I love how it hugs me, I love the train. I’m changing the neckline to a sweetheart and putting in a corset back instead of the buttons. I think I made the right decision, but what do you Bees think? I’m having just a shred of dress regret because I feel like I should’ve tried at least a few more dresses on (the Casablanca was the last dress of the day that I tried), but it just felt right, you know? Opinions, please!!
