We guaranteed our venue a minimum count of 300. Presently, we have 313 confirmed and 55 that haven’t rsvp’d. (If everyone hadn’t added on their children, we would have an extra 15-20!)
But, now, I don’t know what to do about the 55 that I haven’t heard from! I certainly don’t want to run out of food; but, I don’t want to spend another $1000 + for those 55 that may or may not attend!
The venue wants the final count next week. What should I do?

Did you try calling those people to get a verbal confirmation? If you can’t get in touch with them, I would assume they are not coming. I’m sure not all 55 will show up and the caterers usually prepare some extra percentage of food so they have enough for everyone.

I think you should delegate to friends and family and contact those last 55 people to get their RSVPs!
They are likely to be NO’s but I think you would feel better if you knew! So do a little leg work and you will feel better I think!

You need to follow up with missing RSVPs. Get your mother and Future Mother-In-Law involved to contact family members who haven’t RSVP’d and you need to contact your friends that haven’t.
It’s not rude or out of the ordinary to try to track down responses. You don’t want to be surprised when people show up you didn’t know about.
