Some people say 20% is a typical regret rate, but I would not be able to sleep until I got all the regrets if I over-invited.

you’re my date twin 🙂

I am in the same boat, with the same numbers!

I am trying my hardes to make a B list, because almost everyone is close friends and family (we have huge families and step-families), so I’m pretty sure the RSVP rate is going to be high.

I think I will be too nervous about it, I’m gonna have to go exactly 150 and wait til I hear some NO’s to send any more invites out.

I am sending out the exact amount we can have and going from there if we have some No’s.

Just some advice, we over invited and we are not getting enough “regrets” so we are getting very nervous since we will be way over our original 200, now it looks like 260!  So wait off on them a bit til you get some NOs.

I’d be careful with over-inviting. As much as you always hear that 20% of people will decline, that’s really just an average and there’s absolutely no guarantee that you’ll have a similar number of declines! It’s really impossible to tell how many people will RSVP no. I would say you’re probably okay with 175, especially if you know that there are some people on there who won’t be coming, but I definitely wouldn’t invite any more than that until you get enough “no’s”!

You might be best off with an A and B list.

You never really know… we invited about 100 and we wanted to keep it at or under 100. So far we have 99 RSVP’d yes! A LOT of people we figured would decline because of distance are making the trip and we had more people ask to bring a guest than we expected. I would try and stay safe and put those extra 25 on a B list if I were you 🙂
