I have been looking for the perfect bridesmaid dress for about a month now. I have found a few possibilites but something is always off with them..ie either the dress sits werid on my BM’s bodies, doesnt fit my theme, store doesnt carry it anymore…etc. Today I found a dress I love….its from the Jenny Yoo collection. Here is the link http://www.jennyyoo.com/shangtung01.html
its perfect it fits my rustic theme..and the color is perfect (kiwi) the one downfall is the dress is 350 dollars. The salon will give me 15% off the price which will equal out to be 297.
Do you feel as if this is a little too pricey of a dress to ask my BM’s to purchase? I was even considering paying for some of the dress or atleast alterations.

Have you asked your BMs what price point they are comfortable with?
If that is too high, have you looked at Priscilla of Boston?
They have some like this that are less expensive (This is ~$150)

I think it depends on where your bms are at in life. I know that it’s a struggle for me to pay for a $200 Bridesmaid or Best Man dress right now, and I would have to bow out if I was asked to pay $300. You should probably talk to your girls and see where they stand on how much they can afford. I’m sure they love you regardless, it’s just a matter of what’s in the bank :).
This Alfred Angelo is really similar and is listed as under $225. I’m sure you could keep looking and find it even cheaper elsewhere!
This one is semi-similar and is listed at under $150:
I know a month feels like forever, but you still have plenty of time to keep looking!

I totally second talking to your BMs and asking them if they’re OK with the price. But for me personally, yeah, $300 would be too much.
I also second checking out Priscilla of Boston’s dresses. They are gorgeous and totally rewearable, and the color selection is fantastic! My Maid/Matron of Honor got her dress there, and she loves it!

Thanks for your input–my gut says that 300 is a little on the higher end to pay for a dress…I think I am going to have to go down a different road.
@jo.lee: one of my Bridesmaid or Best Man did try on the second dress you showed me and it is very pretty…I do like it! It is definately on my list.
@KatNYC2011:@parasol: I did check out Priscilla. I do love their dresses. I found one that I love but its not featured on their website so I am not sure whats going on with that. Think I am going to call them tomorrow to see if its discountined or what. With my luck they probably will be!
Thanks for everyones input 🙂

A bride I know told me she got Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dresses for $100 the other day due to a promotion at the salon. Maybe there’s more wiggle room on the price?

@Jeannine @ Small Chic: really? wow thats amazing! Was this at one of the Jenny Yoo stores or a bridal salon?

it was at a Jenny Yoo flagship. Perhaps they are from last season?
