I think that you have a right to complain and see if they will let them out at no cost. If not, do you have the time to return them and look someplace else? I bought my Bridesmaid dresses at Banana Republic on clearance for $17 each. When I bought them, they had the dresses available in size 0-16. Maybe go look around and see if there is something that you like that you can buy off a rack to find out if returning the other ones is a viable option before you start negotiating with the shop where the current dresses are. I’d be livid.

@orangefairy: Thanks! I will say something. Sadly, they have a no return policy, so I’m out of luck.

I’ve never heard of bm dresses not being altered.
I would also think that the girl that measured as a 10 but ordered an 8 will be out of luck, as the samples are very often stretched, and not an accurate measure of the 8’s. I suspect she would have had to sign a waiver.
If the one other didn’t try on the sample, it may just be that she carries her weight differently, and the dress doesn’t fit.
I would just get them altered. To me it’s part of getting a bridal store Bridesmaid or Best Man dress.

@andielovesj: I plan on getting them altered but my seamstress isn’t sure that with letting them out that they’ll have enough room to be comfortable and still wear a bra 🙁
