I am needing advice as to which idea to do. My Fiance likes the sand idea and so do I but we are getting married at a winery and think the wine ceremony would go with the theme. Also, if anyone is doing the wine ceremony, how are you doing it? I have read that it is a mixture of a white wine and red wine, but my Fi and I agree this would not taste good at all. Thanks for any input.

Wow, I have never heard of a wine ceremony. Sounds really cool! Looking forward to others responses to this! It does sound like a cool idea for getting married at a winery. Perhaps you would have to talk to some wine experts/winery and ask them which wines would blend nice together ….I am sure they would know.

What kind of wine ceremony were you thinking? We did a love letter and wine ceremony where we wrote each other love letters, sealed them, put them in a wooden box, with a bottle of wine that we bought. So you could use a bottle of wine from the vineyard where you’re getting married. If you’re both into the sand ceremony, you should do that… it won’t be weird.

i have never heard of a wine ceremony like that before. i’m not sure about mixing wines. i’ve only heard of a wine box ceremony where you put a bottle of wine, two glasses, and a letter from each of you describing what you love about the person and nailing the box shut. the box is then opened during a rough patch to remind yourselves of the love you have for each other.
if you want to do something like the pouring and mixing though i would stick with sand.

@airythia: I have not heard of this but I really like the concept of it. When do you put the box contents together? At the ceremony or before?

@airythia: Thanks for the link. I will defiantly show the Fiance and see what he thinks.
