first of all, take that worry of what other people would think out of the equation.

don’t worry about the jeweler’s feelings. you are allowed to change your mind. that’s what their return policies are for. because people do change their minds!

how much of a price difference are you talking between the ring you love and the other ring.

since you’re opposed to upgrading later, wouldn’t it be better to save up until you could get your DREAM ring? details are important. if it doesn’t feel right you can’t fake that feeling. it shd be much happier than you seem right now and that is sad 🙁

@mountaineer11:  My Fi went shopping without me and only barely understood the advice from my sistere on what I liked/wanted. I barely liked my ring when I first got it. I contemplated asking him to let me shop with him to find another…but I didn’t know who to ask. But it’s grown on me. I love it now and wouldn’t change it for the world. Give it some time – I think you will fall in love with it for it’s meaning 🙂

@mountaineer11:  I wanted an antique and recieved a three stone. it still had saphires but it was almost exactly what I sent my sis and said – anything but this. I think immediately after we get the ring we have amini-heartattack because are going to wear it ‘the rest of our life’ – but I gave it time and let the feeling pass and fell in love.

I think you have hope of doing the same thing.

@mountaineer11:  I think if its been a few months and youre still not 100% sure, its probably not your dream ring.

Dont worry about what others say, you can always pass it off as there was a defect in the ring and they couldnt fix it to the way you wanted it.

Do you guys have the extra $1500 to get the other ring?  If so, I would just do it.  Youre still thinking about it, and that should be a clue.
