I’ve been to the Riviera Maya in Mexico a few times and i’ve stayed at All-Inclusives there.  For about $1,000, you can get airfare, airport transportation, food and alcohol for 7 days at a five star resort.  Travel Wednesday to Wednesday (for some reason that’s cheapest), and just stay flexible with the timing!

I love it here because there is so much to do, it’s very safe, and it’s just really easy to get around.

If you want more info about what I’ve done there and how much things cost, PM me and I’ll give you some notes I took for someone else traveling there.

We went to Couples Sans Souci in Jamaica for our honeymoon, and it was AMAZING. I’ve also been to a couple of the Palace Resorts in Mexico, and they were also nice… but not nearly as romantic as Couples!

@Carolyn72:  We got a package deal from CostcoTravel — $4000 for seven nights plus round-trip airfare (half of it business class) from Seattle — so it wasn’t broken down, but I think it was probably less than that since we went in the off season (early August). They have pretty frequent deals on their Facebook page.

It sounds really expensive — but when you factor in the AWESOME food and free-flowing booze, plus a bunch of activities, live music, etc — it’s not too bad. Plus, if you bring your marriage certificate with you, they give you a free 30-min couples massage. I thought that, for the quality of what we got, it was a great deal!

I second the couples resorts! We went to Couples Swept Away in Negril Jamaica. We paid a decent amount of money for the trip but it was by far the best resort and vacation i’ve ever been on. My husband and I have taken an out of country/all-inclusive trip every year since we started dating and the honeymoon still is the most memorable. I truely believe the resort itself played into that.

We went to St. Maarten this year and I really loved it too. I would not recommend the resort we stayed at but the Island itself is beuatiful and I would definitly go back there.

We went to two All Inclusives in the Cancun area for our honeymoon and loooved them–Excellence Playa Mujeres and Iberostar Grand Playa Paraiso.  We would love to go back to either!

We are actually leaving next Tuesday (yayyyyy) for another all inclusive vacation, this time with friends in Punta Cana, DR.  Our friends picked the hotel out and it isn’t as expensive as the two we went to for our honeymoon, so we’re hoping we still get good service and decent food.
