Hi Ladies! Our flower budget is very small due to splurges in other areas. My mom says we really need to have some basic altar decor (likely two arrangements flanking both sides). We are being quoted about $75+ for each arrangement from local florists which is more than I want to spend.
Can you please post what you guys did for your altar decor as well as any pics? The only other decor would be petals down the aisle and some tulle bows on the pews. Attached is pic of church..its much “cozier” in real life. Torn as to what to do!!
Thanks for your help!

Have you talked to the church?
My church made us get altar flowers which were then a donation to the church as well.
I would DIY the flowers, but I think it’s hard! My florist told me it’s one of her most difficult things to do for weddings. What about potted plants instead?

I honestly don’t think you need flowers-the candles create a focal point. If you want to have some and make your Mom happy, I would go to the garden center and get 2 large flowering plants. Place them in a decent looking pot, or cover the black pot with burlap.

How about making huge pomanders out of coffee filters (dyed wedding colors) and placing them on pots. I am unsure if Hobby Lobby carries those really big styrofoam balls or not. It would be cheap and pretty.
