Can anyone recommend a decent, affordable videographer in the Bay Area, or even Sacramento area? I am searching Craigslist and emailing the ones that seem good, but I’d rather hear first-hand experience. I know that for what I want to spend (~$1,000) I’m not going to get top of the line, cinematic video, but I want something worth paying for. Any help would be appreciated!

We are using Thomas Hughes, who was recommended by our photographer. They have 3 hours of just raw footage for $650. Each hour after that is $200 per hour. We’ll probably end up using them for 4 hours total and get the ceremony and most of the important stuff at the reception (toasts, cake, etc).

@Ginger123: Thanks. They emailed me their package information and that option isn’t listed, is it something that they don’t normally do? The cheapest package I see is $1025 for just 2 hours of ceremony-only with an edited DVD.
Does anyone else know of others?

My friends paid $800 and used http://www.newringfilms.com. I’m not sure what exactly they got for that amount, but here is their highlight video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrPBMKYeG6c

MiCha Events Videography (http://www.michavideography.com/p/packages.html) has a package starting at $875. He’s starting out on his own but has been a second shooter in previous wedding events.
