The Hacienda restaurant in Santa Ana is an open courtyard environment, the setting has this beautiful spanish/italian villa feel to it.

Maybe you can check out the flower fields in San Diego. They open during a very specific time of year when the flowers are in full bloom. I walked by a wedding in set up mode while visiting..there was a huge barn like building that was being used for reception and the ceremony’s backdrop was a spread of flowers.

@Laura-n-Jon:  Check out the McCormick Home Ranch in Camarillo! Totally secluded garden-style venue with a beautiful vintage house as a back drop.  The bride’s room is a vintage pale mint green room that’s so cute. The site fee is around $3500 which is very reasonable for so cal.

We really liked Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins: http://www.pinerose.com/hidden-creek-weddings/

Hidden Creek is their biggest one–that’s one of the places we thought about getting married when we were planning our big wedding, but they’ve got a couple other smaller places on site that are still super cute.

You should look into South Coast Botanic Garden. Its a venue only place so you can pretty much bring in and do almost anything you want. They have 2open areas surrunded by trees and flowers and have a gazeebo in each spot . We have 100guests so we’re using the larger area and having our reception at the sam venue. Best part is the price though! You have to bring in your own caterer (which is exactly what we needed) but its worth it because for our 100 guests, use of both reception areas and a private classroom for storage and changing for $2800 (including a $600 refundable sec. deposit) the only downside is that literally everything has to be brought in and taken out same day and if you’re going to serve alcohol you have to hire security guards through a third party. but its a beautiful venue and would be great for a vintage outdoor theme.

Have you looked into Colette’s Catering in Fullerton?  I have been told that they have a garden for ceremonies and include everything (food, tables, chairs, even centerpieces) for about $36 pp.  I haven’t been down there to see the space, but when I called for a friend a few months ago, the lady was very nice and said there was another vintage wedding taking place there in August of this year.  I am quite picky, and from the photos, I would say it’s worth checking out if you don’t already have a venue.

I know this is outside the box but check out electra cruises they have a vintage yacht called the Electra. It’s wooden and so romantic. Here is a link. http://www.electracruises.com/electra.asp

You could have your whole wedding wrapped in a bow and under 10K. I know a yacht wedding isn’t for everyone but it’s worth taking a weekend trip to Newport and touring the yachts with the planner. Even if you don’t pick the venue it’s a nice date touring the yachts. 🙂 We had a blast and they gave us a bottle of champagne at the end of our tour. I have never had an ounce of regret since we signed with them. They really made planning a wedding easy. That link also has the wedding packages listed and those prices are legit for the whole thing even food. We did some upgrades to make it exactly what we wanted, but even with the upgrades we came in under our budget.
