Hi everyone out there,
I normally shy away from posting however I find myself…well, desperate! I am recently engaged and can’t seem to find a place that offers an outdoor ceremony and reception that is affordable! I am open to just about anywhere in the whole state of California (the only exception is for Lake Tahoe for personal reasons on behalf of my fiances family). I would really appreciate it if any of you could forward some suggests to me!
Here is what I am looking for:
– All outdoors (garden, forest, anything with A LOT of trees/folliage); I would love a big tree to get married under.
– Looking at September 2013 but I am very flexible on month/date including Fridays and off peak.
– Evening wedding with your typical dinner and dancing.
– Budget: $6,000 for venue, food, and hopefully hosted bar of wine and beer. Total budget of $13,000. (I expect about 50 to 75 guests.)
Am I delusional for thinking this could happen?

Totally doable. Check out Pinerose cabins in Lake arrowhead. Beautiful place and they even have a package that includes pretty much everything for 10,000.

Thank you for your help mrs.stormylove!

I’d think we were the same person aside from the date (and I don’t mind Lake Tahoe) and the fact that my budget is less than half of yours. 🙁 Did you ever find anything that looked remotely interesting?

You could do a yacht wedding. Hornblower serves 3-4 California cities, although there are lots of other great vendors too. I’ve heard their San Diego yachts are the best.

I love Lake Tahoe, unfortunately we just can’t have the wedding there. Right now I am looking at Pine Rose Cabins in Arrowhead Lake. So far it looks affordable but I am worried I feel differently about the place once I see it in person.
Have you found anything promising? I’ve seen some beautiful estates in Lake Tahoe that you can rent for a good price and have your wedding in the backyward. It would be something initimate and everything there seems like a beautiful back drop. I wish I could do something like this somewhere else in California.

@swarlesk: I haven’t looked at that option yet. I would really really perfer something surrounded by trees. I guess I’m a little bit of a tree lover.

If you are open to anywhere in California, how about this one in Anaheim? It’s definitely outdoors and woodsy – and fairly inexpensive. It’s the Oak Canyon Nature Center.
If you google online, there are some beautiful weddings that have taken place there.
