@figgnewton:  Ask for the VIN number and order a Carfax report (found online) on the car, to make sure it hasn’t been in an accident (if you care about that) and there aren’t any issues like the odometer being screwed with. If it hasn’t been in an accident or messed with at all, and it’s not a lemon, that sounds like a FANTASTIC deal to me!

I’m looking for a car too. . . it’s hard to find cars less than 10 yrs old that cost less than $7000. 🙁

Can you have a mechanic look at it before you buy?

It’s a decent deal if its only got 95 k on it, you’ll get another 200 if you’re good to it. (More if you’re super good to it) We buy diesel Jetta’s they’re the best 😉 I bought mine with 300k on it and she still beats steady a 438!! Make sure the engine is in decent shape.. a seven year old car with less than 100k on it is pretty inexpensive (I think) and thus leads me to believe maybe there is a underlying issue?

I really have honestly only ever owned one car other than Jetta’s and it was a Chevy Sprint. She was also VERY good to me so I’m inclined to think it might be looking into, especially if its just a good deal not a lemon!

@figgnewton:  Do you know about Kelley Blue Book? You should be able to enter the car’s information on that website and it should provide a good estimate for what the car should be worth.
