Hey Everyone.. I am hoping that someone can help me! I think I missed some major girl classes back in the day because I am NOT good at decor or matching!
My fiance and I chose a Sept 2013 wedding date and I was searching and searching for color schemes that I could use. I found one that I absolutely love but I don’t know where to go to find some swatches of the color to help me and my bridal party find matching decor.
I chose a tri-color scheme (is that too many colors?) of Pumpkin, Terracotta, and Warm Chocolate. I found a picture of them online but how do you go about transforming that into a physical color?
Also, I think I want a lantern themed centerpiece.. does that go with a fall wedding?
I am really girl retarded when it comes to this stuff…which is not good when you have to plan a wedding! I would appreciate any and all advice/help!

i think they will go just perfect together, and i dont think 3 is too many at all!!
i dont really have advice – im not too good with this kind of stuff either!
i suppose i started with deciding on which colour i wanted my bridesmaids in ( i have a few colours too) as in if i wanted them to all be in the same colours, or all in different colours, and then what the grooms would wear.
My bridesmaids will be in the same colour but different style dresses with shoes in one of the other colours and the groom and groomsmen will wear both colours. My Future Sister-In-Law who is planning her wedding at the same time, is having her bridesmaids wear one of her colours and the groom and groomsmen will be wearing the other colour.
once i decided that it started to fall into place in my mind of what colours would be used for what – but nothing is set in stone yet because we still have a fair while till our date! But i think this came about from looking at different photos online and in magazines to see what we liked.
and personally i think laterns are perfect for all year round, they bring a lovely little hint of romance into where ever they are!
sorry i havent been too much help!

I can kind of relate with you, as I’m not huge into wedding planning. That gene skipped me! However, for color swatches, I would go to a fabric store (I’m not sure where you are, but Jo-Anne’s or maybe Michaels might have something) and find some fabric there. I think the colors you like sound very pretty and complement each other very well.
I think a lantern centerpiece would work well, although it may also depend on your venue. Also, if you want to put candles in it, check with your venue too because not everyone allows you to light candles, you may have to get fake ones.
Good Luck! It sounds like you’re on the right foot!

You could try paint charts for example colours, that way everyone is on the same page – have learned from experience just how widely interpretations of a colour can vary. One person’s mint green is another person’s sage! Also for more colour inspiration I loved the perfect palette website which you can search by colour and dessy’s website has some inspiration too. Good luck!

The paint store for sure. Everything is color coded and free.

Just a though but isn’t terra-cotta and pumpkin pretty much the same. Also wanted to tell you to start with bridesmaid dresses. They only come in so many colors and you could end up driving yourself crazy trying to match a swatch. So start there. That way you already have that shade.

Thank you guys! I found some samples at my local arts and crafts stores that I really like! I am super excited! 🙂

Glad you found your samples! Lantern centerpieces will be fine. The lantern is just the base. You can add fall decor with leaves, scculents, votive holders etc.
