I love the idea of the plum dresses w/ the sage sashes, that sounds really pretty!
Have you looked at Dessy for dresses, they should have those colors ๐Ÿ™‚

If I can find the pic, I saw some photos of a great plum color scheme wedding and I believe they did plum and gold and it looked amazing!

I may be having the same problem!  I will be a fall 2010 bride too and I am going for like a midnight purlpe hue with silver and a little orange.  But I can not seem to find a variety of purple bm dresses!

Your idea sounds good!  My ispiration for the color of my bms dresses are what kind and color flowers I want them to carry…so do you know what you want them to carry?  and then maybe you cold decide which dominant color you want for the dresses?

Good luck!

Hey Ladies.. as a fellow fall wedding.. although mine is this year.. I also wanted to stay away from the normal fall colors.

My main color is turquoise which will be accented with black… I didn’t want the turquoise to seem to much like summer.. so i opted for the black accent.. we are also having a "bling" theme..

Plum and Sage sounds so pretty together.. good luck ladies!!

Like if you wanted them to carry the beautiful purple flowers then I would go with the sage dress with plum sash..but that is just me!

Sorry for the multiple post!… and if I sound crazy!

Hi there! I felt compelled to comment because we’re getting married this September, and went with plum, spice orange and ivory as our colors, and we’re really happy with it!

I LOVE the Draianna Papelle dress from Nordstrom ๐Ÿ™‚ I almost chose that for my girls, but ended up getting something they preferred.

Have you considered more of a lime green? You don’t want to go too neon or anything, but a really bright green REALLY pops with plum purple, and it’s still very fall. Here’s another inspiration board I found:

Having the plum dresses from Nordies with bright green bouquets would be absolutely lovely ๐Ÿ™‚

If you were really diggin’ the whole multi-colored thing, a way to get away with that with your fiance is to use  two shades of purple, much like this:

I hope that helps! Congratulations ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi!  I am also a Fall Bride in 2010.  I actually chose a Bridesmaid or Best Man dresss from the inspiration boards!  It’s the Dessy dress in Aubergine.  I think it’s very fall-themed and at the same time not TOO purple.  I am currently debating accent colors, but am considering a pale gold/champagne or brown!  Hope this helps!

I hope my post above helps, based on the things you wanted/need, and based on your FI’s fear of it being too busy, this is what I came up with.  The wreath on the door of the church above the couple’s initials I would make purple but keep the initials in green.
