You can try to find some salons that might sell lower end off the rack dresses. I did that and found my dress for $399. Also Davids Bridal is really affordable and has some pretty dresses

I bought a designer dress used for about 1/4th retail. I reccomend oncewed.com or preownedweddingdresses.com. There are a bunch more sites that sell used dresses too, I just don’t remember them off the top of my head.

My stepdaughter’s beautiful gown is from Jordan Bridals, and I’m pretty sure it is within your price range.

Casablanca had a number of gowns in that range too, especially if you can score a sample.

My Bonny was $750, plus $100 to be made in a custom length.  I only spent about $150 on alterations (taking in the bust and adding the bustle).
