Hi Bees –
I’ve written before on how I am going dress shopping alone. I’m feeling this dress and I can really picture myself getting married in it – but there is one other dress that I’m feeling and I just can’t make a decision! I’m stuck and I think a lot of it is because my mom isn’t around (she passed away 2 years ago) and having my best friend and Maid/Matron of Honor so far away (living in Seattle), I need a bit of encouragement.
It is gorgeous isn’t it? And it gives me such an amazing shape. You can view it on their website here: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Gossamer-Gown-with-Drop-Waist-and-Floral-Appliques-PK3285

You look great in this dress! I love the floral appliques and the dropped waist.
What does the other dress look like? Are they the same style or different?

The other dress looked like this: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Chiffon-Soft-A-Line-with-Beaded-Empire-Waist-WG3128
I didn’t take a picture of me wearing it because I was starting to feel overwhelmed. It is an A-line but it was really beautiful. I tried it on in Ivory and loved it (totally shocked about that – thought I wouldn’t like it). They didn’t have it in white to try on.

I love this one too!
I totally understand the stress and uncertainty of dress shopping (I bought a dress, had major dress regret after my first fitting, and then bought the dress I wanted from the start on a consignment shop website a month (!) before my wedding).
The empire waist dress has a more classic feel to it. It is a timeless look. (and with my own personal traditionalist bias, my favorite!). The drop waist floral is a bit more versatile, a chic and modern bridal silhouette with the floaty organza skirt.
Depending on your bridal vision of your look and your day, one may be better than the other. But they are both fabulous!

I think you would look beautiful in the second dress as you do in the first. You seem to have a feeling about the second dress. Can you try it and post a picture of you in both.
I KNOW it’s not tradition and I’m older…….I wouldn’t want to dress shop alone either. I would take my fiancé with me.

I think its beautiful on you and love the shape but advise you to look a little more, not because of the dress but because of all the dress regret I keep reading about. Wait until you know it’s the one. You look gorgeous!

wow, I really like this dress! It has a very sweet look to it and I love the design

Sorry, not a fan of either. Think you should keep looking.

You look beautiful! I have a little bit of hesitance, but I think mainly because I’m hoping that if you go with this dress, you’ll go with a crinoline to poof out the skirt. I do feel like I wish the dress poofed out a little bit! But otherwise, I think it’s a beautiful dress for you!

I actually tried this dress on when I went to DB. I thought it looked great on in person. I have also tried on gowns similar to the empire waisted one, and hated all of them. I love the idea of them, but they just didn’t look great on my short body. hah!
If you are sure you don’t want to keep looking, I’d go for the drop waist. 🙂

I am a mom and I would love to go dress shopping with you. No daughters, just two grown sons.
