I purchased my dress a long time ago after trying on lots of dresses from many different bridal shops. I always wanted to look like a princess, so I went for mostly satin dresses with lots of beading and crystals. I’m on my 3rd fitting now and I do love my dress, but I keep getting feelings of worry that my dress isn’t going to wow people since it’s not as stylish and current as most. Right after I got it, I started thinking “omg my dress has thick straps, everyone wears strapless now. omg my dress isn’t fitted past my hips like everyone is wearing. omg my dress doesn’t have pleats and ruching and everyone on here has pleats or ruching. omg it doesn’t show off my figure enough….” You all know what I mean!
I’m also worried that it’s too poofy. I may try on some less structured crinoline under it to let it flow more. I’ll just have to increase the heel on my shoes a little. Please tell me what you think!!!
Here is my dress: The lighting wasn’t the best at the bridal shop, but it’s white with silver beading designs. I really liked how this dress felt well made and the high quality 3D designs and details.
Here are all the other dresses I tried on :
#1 lace mermaid dress. It just didn’t scream “princess bride” to me.
Dress #2 Oleg Cassini at David’s. I really liked the front, but the design on the train kinda looked like a spider web to me, lol. The dress was also the heaviest one I tired on. I could barely keep it up!
#3 I really liked the pleated train on this one, but not the defined separation between the skirt and the top.
#4 Poofy princess tulle dress. I liked all the sparkle, but it was a little too poofy, lol.
#5 This was my almost choice. I loved the way it hugged my waist, but to be honest, the details seemed “cheap.” The beading and stitching didn’t really stand out as much, but I did love the shape of the dress. You can barely see all the design a the bottom. There were also like 8 pictures of brides wearing this same dress at the shop :-/ I tried it on probably 4 different times.
#6 a lace A-line my mom picked out. I like the dress a lot, but the only thing that changed my mind was it’s similarity to someone else I know’s dress.
