My FH and I decided to go with personalized stemless wine glasses for our wedding favors, since we are wine drinkers. However, we feel it would be inappropriate to give these glasses to my cousins (ages 11 and 9), his nieces and nephew (20, 16, and 12).
I was going to give them some type of candy jar, but FH doesn’t like edible favors – he likes something that you can keep as a memento. Any suggestions that will work for these pre-teen/teen kids? Was hoping for something universal that I could give to all of them and works for the 4 girls and 1 boy.

@emmanneliza: Edible favours, I’m going to be brutally honest and say that most people will probably throw your favours out. Guests don’t generally like to have mementoes of other people’s weddings, and I certainly don’t think that they’d be of any use to pre teens, just get them candy jars.

@BridieBea: thank you for your honesty… I absolutely agree with you and I have never really kept anything from a wedding. My other half is the one insisting on non-edible (sigh) and I’m trying to be accommodating because of the 5 children, 3 are his immediate relatives.

Personalized bookmarks. It encourages them to read. Kids aren’t going to keep any favor you get them so a nice leather bookmark may get grabbed by mom or dad if the kid doesn’t use it.

@emmanneliza: Well you can probably give the 20 year old the wine glasses, but yeah other then that candy.

Give them the candy. Even at that age they will lose or throw out whatever you give them.
