Hi all! This is my first post and I’m really hoping for some help figuring out wording for my invites. I’m super excited about DIYing them and have my fiance hard at work painting what will be the cover image (he’s an amazing artist, so I figure it’ll be fun and personal to use something he created). He’s basing it on the old carnival style posters and it features “the bride” & “the groom” as well as our 3 dogs. Anyway, I’m totally stuck on the wording we will use. We are very casual, fun people and I want the invite to reflect that, but everything I’ve found seems so stuffy. My parents are paying for the entire thing, but they have said they won’t be offended if we don’t do the whole “Mr. & Mrs. invite you to the wedding of their daugher…” but I do still want to honor the fact that they are the hosts. The ceremony & reception are at one of our favorite restaurants and it is an evening affair, but not black tie formal. Help??? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly welcomed!
