Hi ladies! I fell in love with a Pnina Tornai dress that I tried on at Kleinfeld but it was way out of my price range so I am having it custom made through Milly Bridal online. Here is a picture:
I am making a few slight changes, such as adding Swarovski crystals lightly along the rouching, like this:
The dress has a corset back and about a chapel length train. I am also getting my veil custom made but I have no idea what length I should go with. I do know that I want it to be angel cut with satin cord along the edges and crystals lightly scattered. I think long veils look gorgeous, but I’m about 5’3″, so I’m concerned about my height. I would like 3 layers, including a blusher. Originally, I was thinking blusher, elbow, and fingertip, but I’m starting to look into longer ones. What do you think? I also have no idea what to do about gloves. I like gauntlets because you can leave them on during the ceremony but I don’t know if they match my dress. I’m also undecided about a headpiece. I would appreciate any and all suggestions you all may have. Please also feel free to add suggestions regarding the dress design because I haven’t ordered it yet (I’m in the process of saving). Thanks so much for your help!

Hi! 🙂 I love your dress! Lovely choice.
If you’re petite too many accessories may overwhelm. Gloves, a 3-layer veil, headpiece and additional beading may be a bit of overkill – and you haven’t even gotten to jewelry yet! Decide which part of you you’d like to highlight and focus your efforts there, and don’t forget to take your cues from the season you’re getting married e.g. a winter wedding may necessitate gloves whereas a summer wedding might be best complemented by a pretty floral headpiece and light veil.

I agree. I had a bride once who had a gorgeous, but elaborate dress! I saw it and it was like, woah, that’s awesome! Then, she let her long hair down, added LARGE statement Earrings, necklace, AND bracelet…. Added a huge thick veil and tiara. Oy vey, it was too much!
When we did an after wedding shoot, she pulled back her hair, put on a pair of earrings and called it good. She was like, “I didn’t realize how much I had on!”
Your dress is gorgeous! But, it’s got a lot going on. Like said above, I would go with the “less is more” approach. I would most likely do a pair of earrings and a cathedral veil with blusher.
No gloves.
You have a lot going on with your dress, so you’ll need to pick what you add carefully.
