Long story short the only live music option we have for our ceremony is acoustic guitar. I did a thread search and found some older threads (4-6 years) with some classic song suggestions which we are considereing. I am looking for any suggestions for more recent songs that could be played while guests are waiting/processional. Neither my FH or I are big into music, so don’t really have favorite songs.
Setting is an early afternoon ceremony in a small chapel up a mountain in Europe.
Thanks in advance!

So many! Are you having a guitarist play for you or looking for guitar only tracks to play on a cd with no vocals?
ill be happy to help if I know what you’re after.

Thank you! We will have a guitarist playing, trying to avoid the cd/iTunes route.

kmeris : then I’d certainly ask the guitarist what they recommend. If you have favourite tracks you could ask him or her to learn for acoustic but as you don’t seem to have anything you love then let them advise you on what’s nice for the occasion.

We also just had a single accoustic guitar and it was lovely for our smaller venue. While the guests we being seated he played a mix of stuff like “Wonderful World,” “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You,” “Fields of Gold” by Sting, “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley, and Elton John’s “Your Song.”
Our processional was very traditional….”Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” for the wedding party and then “Here Comes the Bride” for me. I tried to get all fancy with modern music for the ceremony but the plan fell through and we ended up with this – and you know what? On an accousic guitar it sounded perfect!
Then we mixed it up for the recessional and did one of my husband’s favorite song’s … “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughn.

- Wedding: Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception/The Gallery
“Falling Slowly” by The Swell Season, “Such Great Heights” by the Postal Service, and “Into the Mystic” by Van Morrison are all great when played accoustically.

We’re doing postal service’s Such Great Heights, Beyonce’s XO, and Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles. Harvest Moon by Neil Young is also incredibly beautiful! Also, Ho Hey by The Lumineers. 🙂 There’s a lot more beautiful songs, but these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head.
