I LOVE the ML,  I tried that one on today too and I loved the back and like another comment said about it’s not just another strapless dress. It will look great on you once it is altered. It sounds like you really like the Mori Lee, especially since you Were looking for other dresses after the first one you bought. I hope you choose the ML, I can’t stop thinking about it after I tried it on and I am glad to see a real bride in the dress, rather than those Website models! I think it looks great on you!

Mori Lee! I love the swishiness and the back is much more romantic!

Are you committed? Are you able to return the Mori Lee if you decide on the Maggie?

The top (bust and shoulders) and back of the Mori Lee is AMAZING. Much more interesting than the top and back on the Maggie. But the waist is doing you no favors, while the pulled ruchinng on the Maggie is showing off your bod.

The problem with the Mori Lee dress is not JUST in the lack of alternations. Looking at the model pics online for that dress, the issue is that the fabric ‘flows’ from a HIGH waist in the front, with billowing. Even when properly fitted, it will not show off an hourglass – there’s just too much fabric in the design at that particular location. It’s not made to ever be smooth against your body at your waist.

You would look so incredible in a dress that does what the Mori Lee does for you on top and in the back, but pulls in/lays against you at the waist.

    From the UK here 🙂

I think they both look really lovely, but the Maggie is more flattering in my opinion.  But the Mori I would say looks better if you’re having a destination wedding, just looks more beachy if that makes sense.  Do you feel comfortable in both? if so, go with the one you prefer (the Mori!).

I personally like the mori lee dress better myself, love the top half of it, but the bottom half looks a bit swimming on you – but may look a lot better once it is taken in.  Also not sure if it is just the lighting – but the mori lee dress seems a bit bright for you skin tone.  the best of luck with choosing! 🙂

while i love the mori lee, the maggie one is so glamourous and really suits you. it makes you look like a celebrity or something. if i saw both dresses, personally i prefer the mori, but on you the maggie somehow it really really suits you. once it is taken in you will surely look like a star. take the lady’s advice and go for the right hand one

I voted Mori Lee.  It’s much prettier.  I don’t like corset backs either and I think strapless is so overdone. I think when you look back in 15 years, you’ll find the Mori Lee much more timeless.

I can see your dilemna. The Mori Lee is a very pretty dress and seems more “destination” to me. However, the Maggie is 10x more flattering on you. I’m not saying this to mean so I hope it doesn’t come off that way but you look 20 pounds lighter in the Maggie than the Mori Lee. I also don’t like the way corset back dresses look but I ended up paying extra to have mine switched to a corset back because I like the way it makes me look in the front hahaha. Like you, I want people to think I look amazing in my dress, and the corset is one way to do that. I do think the Mori Lee is the prettier dress, but I think the Maggie looks better on you. Tough decision. Do you have an appointment coming up to get the Mori Lee fitted? It will probably make a big difference when the waist is brought in to fit you. Maybe once the alterations are done, it will be easier to make the decision.

kag317:  I can see why you are torn! But in the end you will look the best in whatever you feel the best in. That said I voted for the Maggie.you can always get the corset converted to a zipper.

aaargh!  I can totally see why you can’t decide!  I voted for the Maggie Sottero before I read anything because honestly when I saw the pics I thought you looked at least 2 sizes smaller in the MS dress.  HOWEVER, I actually much prefer the ML dress, it’s far more interesting and it’s very romantic and delicate.  I really think you need to get the alterations done before you can decide – can it even be pinned to get a better fit idea or do you have to spend all the money and get it fully altered?  It’s a tough one but it actually sounds like you don’t even like the MS dress, so either way, I don’t think you should wear something you don’t like.  Even though you say you’re the same weight in both pics, things like your posture and your stance will have an impact – eg in the MS you have your shoulders further back which givesthe impression of slimmer arms.  So you can’t really compare the 2 pics side by side… hmm, I think you need to get the ML altered and see then!
