- Wedding: June 2013
My fiancee and I are not planning to have a large wedding party at all. In fact, we’re thinking of just one person for each of us.
His is a rather obvious choice– his best friend, who I LOVE. So I could not be happier.
Mine is a little tougher. I just don’t have a BFF like that. So… here are my options:
1) My older sister. I was in her (very simple, small) wedding. I love her, but she is not big into the wedding thing, and lives a million miles away. She’s also going through a divorce, and I likely won’t see her until the wedding (sadly). Because she lives so far away and has two little girls, she’s never met my fiancee.
2) College friend. Love this friend, but she’s out of town as well. Not super girly, but would be up for some girly things in preparation for the wedding. Has spent some time with my fiancee. Doesn’t know my in-town friends, and might be overwhelmed by some of them (I’ve joined roller derby locally, which brings together a really eclectic group of people!)
3) A local friend. Maybe not someone that I’ve stayed up with nights talking abou this or that, but someone that could share the whole wedding process with me, from crafting to shopping to whatever. I have friends that have already stepped in to do what maid of honor would usually do (attending bridal fair, going with me to buy the dress), but she wouldn’t describe me as a closest friend, even though we do love eachother.
What are your thoughts? I absolutely plan to have my sister do a reading or something similar even if she isn’t a bridesmaid. I just don’t know how to pick!
In all honesty, my fiancee is my best friend in the world… so short of cloning him, I’m not sure who should stand in that spot!
