Wow, that’s a really nice offer. I wouldn’t think it’s a scam, there are easier ways to scam people out of money than to encourage them to donate to charity haha.

Onjectively, I’d probably go with Photographer A, but it’s all about personal style which is something we can’t decide for you. They both do beautiful work. It seems that A focuses more on really gorgeous portraits, B focuses on capturing the action with a picture, but this may just be because we’re looking at different subsets of pictures. It’d be easier ot tell with whole albums.

shakeyourhips:  Is there any way you can share the story of why you chose your venue?  I am curious now!

Also, I like Photographer B.  I went to his real weddings page and looked at 3 or 4 different weddings and from what I see he is consistent and has a richer product than Photographer A.  I think his colors stand out more and if it was me, that is the style I would want to look back on 20 years from now.  I like the dreamy, ethereal quality of Photographer A, but they are a little too ethereal for me; I want the photos to look real and dreamy at the same time, not just dreamy. Don’t know if that makes sense, but I tried!  However, you really can’t go wrong regardless of who you choose so good luck making the decision!  Let us know who you end up going with and please post recaps when it’s time!  🙂

I voted B. If you’re undecided and it’s the one your Fiance likes the most then let him have his casting vote.

shakeyourhips:  Option A has nice photos but a few were not my fav, there seemed to be two different focal points.

Option B, I love. His photos tell a story. I felt each photo. It seems that option B would be able to take photos that re-live your wedding when looking at them not just re-living a pose of the day.

B! As photos are lovely but honestly nothing special. B is an artist. His pics are so stunning. That’s more my style though so it’s personal taste.

Candid all the way. I swtiched out photographer just before I booked to the lady that I LOVE (who was WAY MORE) because her candid style blew me away. She’s incredible. Posed photos are not fun.

I personally like the style of Photographer A more, but I’m all about light, airy photos.

Wow, we have parallell stories of the photographer’s search! I narrowed it down to two after contacting over 30. Option A was light and airy and ethereal, which is everything I thought I wanted; Option B was dynamic, candid, and showed motion. There was quite a large price difference between the two. Without sharing pricing, I sent the two I loved most to my Fiance, my parents, and a few trusted girlfriends. They hands-down chose Option B. I agree with PP who said that those are the kinds of photos they’d ultimately want to look back on in 20 years — I think that the candid/action shots bring you back to the feelings of the day better than more posed photos do.

So, in my scenario we went with Option B (for a bigger price tag, and shuffled some other budget aspects), but honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with either.

I’m not sure if I’m just looking in the wrong place, but Option A only had portraits and posed photos. I wonder how well she can capture moments as they occur organically.

Option B had actual wedding photos. It takes experience and skill to capture quick meaningful moments stolen by the bride groom and guests. I think he’s the safer bet.

It’s a style thing. I wouldn’t decide on the charity thing as you’re effectively paying anyway and they will get publicity off doing it for free (although it’s a sweet offer).

Personal taste is huge here. Option A is more my style and I wouldn’t consider option B- the guy is definitely the better and more talented of the two photographers but he wouldn’t get the dreamy romantic look I want and I’m not into action shots or funny shots. But if you shortlisted him you must love this style and you must want all those ‘memory’ moments and your Fiance seems to want that too, so I’d go with his casting vote. (My Fiance doesn’t have much opinion on photogrpahy style, so I picked the photographer). I can really appreciate the art of what B has produced.

    Not a fan of B.

My preferred style is natural light, light and airy. Not truly a fan of the more ‘dark/dramatic’ style. That is however, my personal preference! Get what you love the most!
