- Wedding: September 2013
My big day is in six months, and I have a dress I LOVE – but cannot decide on what veil to wear (or whether I should wear one at all).
When I purchased the dress, I tried on both a very simple, traditional fingertip veil, and a fascinator. I ended up purchasing the fascinator but was never really sure about it (I admit I was swayed by my mother and the sales associate, who both insisted that since I wanted to wear blue heels, I couldn’t possibly wear a traditional veil and my classic dress – I had to do something quirky instead of a veil). But I am concerned that I just don’t have the outgoing, confident personality to go with a fascinator – I am more shy and quiet. For instance, I toyed with the idea of not even walking down the aisle!
So now, I am trying to decide: Stick with the fascinator? Get a traditional veil – and if so, fingertip or chapel length? Or skip it all and put a flower in my hair?
I am planning to have a laid back updo – nothing too elaborate (think Lauren Conrad), with some loose pieces that will still cover my ears. Our ceremony will be outside in September, and there is a good chance it will be a bit breezy, as we’ll be on a patio on a hill, about six or eight blocks from a harbor.
Opinions are VERY welcome!
