Are you having a bartender?  We had a bartender at ours and I wish I talked to them beforehand to find out what mixers would be best.  I ended up buying some tropical juices (like passion fruit and pinapple juice) and the bartender whipped up the most interesting drinks.

We’re doiing the sweet tea vodka & lemonade (so good)!

Another one we’re doing is a Dark and Stormy – Dark rum with either ginger ale or ginger beer.

Rum and coke/rum and diet are always popular.

Oooh, glad you are doing the sweet tea with lemonade combo – yummy!

I think it is a good idea to have soda available as a mixer for vodka, for anyone trying to watch their calories (as someone newly watching cals, this is big for me lol)

I also second @LadyBear:‘s Dark & Stormy suggestion for rum!

mixers & drink ideas

  • club soda – vodka soda, or to make fizzy non-alcoholic lemonade
  • cola – diet and reg for rum & coke
  • ginger ale – good with vodka or rum
  • lemonade – vodka lemonade (especially good with blueberry or raspberry vodka) & sweet tea vodka arnold palmers
  • pineapple juice –  rum & pineapple, splash of pineapple to vodka soda or vodka cran (you can mix it w/ just about anything – adds sweetness and masks alcohol flavor)
  • cranberry juice – vodka cranberry
  • orange juice – screw drivers and mimosas

For garnishes, you will definitely want lemon and lime wedges, and orange or pineapple slices could be nice too.

soda water + raspberry (or cherry) vodka + splash of cranberry juice = sooo refreshing. I can drink these all night long with no headache during or hangover after. 🙂

If you can get your hands on it, Sloop Betty vodka is, hands down, the best vodka out there. Oh so smooth. mmmmmmmm

Bay Breeze: Cran, pineapple & vodka.

This is my go-to drink when I’m out and don’t feel like trying something new.  It’s also really tasty with coconut rum Smile
