Go for the morning time slot! Noon usually has bad lighting for photos (obviously a good photographer will still make it look beautiful regardless), and as a guest I’d prefer a Sunday morning wedding vs afternoon.

Lauren357 :   Congratulations! I am having a Sunday, beachside brunch wedding this July. Here is the photograpy schedule I am using for the best lighting and flow of events:

9-10 First Look, Bride Groom, Family & Wedding Party (early to avoid harsh lighting and shadows)

10-10:20 Sentimental Items (Dress, Rings…)

10:20-10:35 Ceremony/Reception Decor (before guests arrive)

11-11:20 Beach Ceremony (under arch with canopy to filter sun)

The reception is in the restaurant that is outdoors with a solid shaded roof and white background.

The photographer shared that a white or light grey background with plenty of even natural light is good for daytime lighting.  Also, if outdoors, an even shade instead of patchy shading such as a gazebo is best to avoid shadows.

Lauren357 :  We had our engagement shoot from 10-11. I’m waiting for the photos since we waited until this month to take them. I’m sure you’re photographer will look at the areas that have the best lighting/shade as necessary and it will be great. Also, they can use different filter screens to deflect or filter the sun.
