I need your advise. So a little back story, fiance and I have decided to upgrade my ring to a moissanite and we decided on a setting finally but I cant decide what size stone to get. I love the 1.72ct but I am afraid it’s going to be too big and look “goddy” on me. I am a very simple girl who doesnt wear much jewelry so I am torn between the 1.30ct or the 1.72ct (princess brilliant cut). Here is a photo of the setting we decided on. Do any of you ladies have a princess cut size stone near the sizes I mentioned? Also I have short little stumpy fingers (size 8)

I have a 2 ct diamond center stone and my finger is a size 4.25 , I usually don’t wear any other jewlery… just a necklace Fiance surprised me with recently.. and I don’t think my ring looks gaudy at all.. with the size difference between our fingers I think that a 1.72 will look beautiful and not “too large” at all, plus, it sounds like thats the one you want 😉

I don’t think a 1.72 is going to look gaudy. I have a 1.71 Asscher, wear a size 6.5 and I’ve had people tell me how “dainty” my ring looks.

I think 1.72 will be the perfect size for your size finger. I have a 1.2 on a size 6 finger (with halo) and it is PERFECT in terms of “finger coverage” (for me at least) so the bigger stone you are considering will fit you nicely 🙂

That’s a 1.6 ct princess cut on my size 3.5 finger. I don’t think it looks too big on me, and my fingers are ridiculously small, so I say go for the bigger stone!

You are so helpful here! And yes I was leaning towards the 1.72ct and I just happen to see a video on youtube of a 1.30ct princess cut moissanite and thought it looked really large on the womans hand but it could just be the angle of the video. I just dont want someone looking at it and thinking “thats fake, there is no way he could afford that” and unfortunetly I work with woman that would think that!

go for 1.72
honestly, I think setting styles have more to do with a ring looking gaudy than stone size alone (unless the stone is gigantic). not that I think your setting is–what you chose is very classic looking.
I do like the setting you chose, and I do think you should go for the 1.72 ct! I, too, have simpler tastes and I secretly yearn for a 2ct stone myself 🙂
