The first dress is a white Mori Lee dress. I recently bought it off of someone who assured me it was in my size but it is too big so I would need to have it taken in. Its such a BEAUTIFUL dress but I am very nervous about it being strapless! Ive never worn a strapless dress before. I’m a street size 12 and feel like my shoulders are too big for a dress like this
The second dress is from Davids Bridal color ivory with champagne. I just recently found it online and have fallen in love with it…I would wear it without the bustle slip so its not as puffy. The person in this picture is wearing a bustle slip. The dress also comes with off the shoulder straps which can be unhooked to be sleeveless

I think the Mori Lee looks BEAUTIFUL, and your shoulders are definitely not too big for that dress. It looks very elegant and light.

I like the Mori Lee better. I think it looks great on you. Are you in love with the one from DB because it has straps? Either way…you have to go with your gut and get what makes you happy!

I like the first dress much better. You can add capped sleeves if you wanted when you get the other alterations. It’s not very hard so it shouldn’t be that expensive.

Thanks girls.
To asburyparkbride YES the sleeves have a big part in me liking the dress. My mom also has a BIG part in it. She keeps telling me that I dont have the body to wear the Mori Lee dress ((She has always been on my case about my weight. She’s very fit and upset that I’m not))
Forgot to mention I have a 2 year old…Im afraid that If I wear the strapless and go to hold her my dress will fall off! Has anyone ever heard of this happening?? It would be a wedding nightmare!..lol

Awww, I’m sorry your mom told you that. From what I can see, imo, you look beautiful in the Mori Lee and your non-big shoulders look great in it!
I’ve never heard of anyone’s strapless dress falling down. I think (or at least, hope!) that as long as you have the dress fitted to your body and secure, there should be no horrifying wardrobe malfunctions.

The Mori Lee strapless bodice looks great on you, and I personally prefer the skirt of it over the DB dress. When you alter the strapless to fit it will feel very secure and not fall off.
If you are still concerned, @H216scrf‘s suggestion to add cap sleeves is a good one, and could mimic the shoulder you like on the DB…good luck!
