I have my heart set on an emerald centre stone but I can’t seem to decide on having it on a plain band or one with stones on the band.
I love the look of a solitaire and I’ve been told that a plain band would enhance the beauty of the stone but then a part of me can’t seem to shake off the need for more sparkliness I like the look of round stones set in the band but I’m not sure if it’s a bit much. Someone previously suggested getting baguette sidestones for extra sparkle but when I saw the side profiles for those ring settings, they didn’t really appeal to me aesthetically.
So, bees, what do you think? Which would you get?
Thanks in advance!

I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I voted for the sparkle, but both are lovely!
If you’re so torn between the two, why not something in between, like 1 or 2 accent stones on each side, something like this?

I love the sparkle of diamonds on the band, but I am leaning towards a solitaire. I tried to think practically about how I am… I put on hand cream 50x a day, I am quite clumsy, etc… so I am not sure side stones are such a good idea. I don’t want them gunked up or falling out. Also, tastes change… if I go w. something simple and classic then it’ll never go out of fashion. Just something to consider. I am in the same quandry!
I suppose emeralds (and emerald cut stones) sparkle less than some other cuts so maybe side stones are a good idea.. hmm.. lol

Side stones would look great! My band is pave for a little extra sparkle- that would also look fabulous with your stone!

@abirdword: Ooh that’s a viable option! I’ll have to look through Adwar to see if there are similar-looking settings
@canarydiamond: Lol you have basically typed out my thought process – it’s a tug of war between extra sparkle and letting the stone be the star grr
And thank you to everyone who has voted and/or commented so far. I really appreciate it. Feel free to keep em coming

Thats a gorgeous stone. I’d go with side stones rather than pave set band. If you put hand cream on a lot be sure to take the ring off! Emeralds are quite soft compared to sapphires and rubies and it would be sad to damage it 🙂

I vote side stones to really showcase the beauty of the stone.

When you first said emerald, I assumed you meant emerald cut diamond. Now that I see you mean a real emerald stone, I would definitely go with something that had diamond side stones.

That is a gorgeous emerald!! I would pick the diamonds on the side, the white and green contrast would be lovely.

I love emerald in a gold setting – so classic and stunning…
This is my favorite emerald ring (two side stones):

@Miss Circe: I think getting the plain band for the engagement ring and then adding an eternity band with stones will look wonderful. THe emerald it so pretty that you don’t want to have too much going on that distracts from its beauty!

@skedwards33: Thank you for your suggestion but whilst a pave band would look lovely, the ones I’ve seen are a bit over our budget sadly
@Shlieka: and @-crayola-: As gorgeous as those three stone rings are, I kind of would prefer to stay away from that style for my ring. Simply because three girls who I am good friends with all got engage early this year or late last year and all three have gotten three stone rings. And another was given, for a push present, a ring with an emerald centre stone with a diamond stone on either side lol
Thank you so much again for everyone who has voted and commented so far. I really appreciate all your comments, opinions and feedback
