It appears I am finally going to get my ring. I’m just so happy about it. But I’m torn too. I always feel so immensely guilty buying myself anything and this is going to be costly. I was going to go with a ring from MoissaniteCo but I think in the back of my head I might always feel I wish I’d gone with diamond. Probably because in lots of ways I’ve come to feel my husband spared no expense on his ex and seems fine with doing so with me. So in this ONE instance I think I never want to look down and remember that her ring cost 4 times what mine did. I just want it to symbolize our love and devotion. I know you can’t really place a price on that so please don’t beat me up over it. And I do sort of miss my old wedding set too….and while I’m usualy frugal to the extreme, that thing was a knockout. The other issue is my sister in law: when she heard we were ring shopping last year went out and bough the ring I was looking at! I still feel bad about it.
So, I’ve narrowed it down to a few styles. One is a Neil Lane and I feel we’d kind of be paying for the name brand? The other is from Kay’s too. The last ring I just found yesterday and I’ll have to post pics later…I think it might surpass them both. We are going to remove the center diamond and just buy the mounting and put in a diamond we find separetely. I’m not happy with the clarity of any of them….and I want a one carat center. Anyone have any ideas of where to get a reasonable loose diamond? Last time I got a fabulouse deal off Ebay….and I think I may do so again. It will be a GIA graded diamond from a reputable seller…..
Here are the pics. Which do you prefer. The last ring to come later
The one thing I’m not loving about the Neil Lane is that it bumps out and I’d later like to stack rose gold and yellow gold bands with it…so they’d have to be custom made. And way pricier. And the Neil Lane is the ring my sister in law has and she has lost diamonds from it. I’m horrible at making decisions….lol.

This is another one I’m considering. The sales guy is pulling loose diamonds for me to look at too. I just think of all of them I’m liking this setting the least. And of course there is no online pics of the one I’m really leaning towards, it is from Fred Meyer. This one I’m posting her is from Zales.

Personally, I think the second one, the Key ring is much prettier– I love the detailing on the sides.
Here are some pics for everyone:

I LOVE #3. The other ones seem a bit too bulky, but if you love that, then go for it! But I really like 3 because it just looks more elegant.

Another vote for No. 3, but I’m a sucker for the softer lines of round and cushion cuts/halos.

@Juliett.eliza: Thanks for the much better pics! I’m sort of leaning towards #2 of the ones shown also. I really have to get that pic from my husband of the other ring though. It is really similar but has more heft in gold weight and diamonds around the halo while still looking delicate. There are less stones down the band and more around the halo.

1 OR 3 but 3 is speaking to me more

OPTION TWO – love the details!!!

Oooo. Tough choice. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.
#1 and #2 come across as more vintage looking, where #3 is more modern. I am also a sucker for the round-in-a-cushion halo so I would lean more toward #3.

I’m surprised to see everyone isn’t saying #1. It is 1,400 more for the engagement and wedding band for that set. And the diamond weights are pretty close. The salespeople were sort of pushing #1 and it is gorgeous but not sure I want the same ring as my sister in law. My version would be larger though. That too might make problems. I don’t want to look like I’m one upping her. Even though I had my eye on it first. She’d originally shown me another ring but went with this. Ugh.

@halolover: #1 is my second choice, but #3 is so pretty!
