@parixa:  If your colors are silver, white, grey and shades-of-pink, I would definitely use the venue’s white tablecloths that come at no cost. The ivory would seem out of place to me.

I also urge you to get over your concern about the chairs and don’t bother with chair covers at all. No one will remember or even notice the chairs, and they are actually a darker shade of the same color family of one of your colors-pink. Within minutes of your guests entering the room, the chairs are covered with jackets, sweaters, and the guests themselves.

If you must do something with the chairs you could buy sashes or table runners and tie them vertically over the backs of the chairs. That would free up your budget for grey table runners if that would help get the look you want.

    Heres my thoughts…

Go with the white or ivory lines that come with your venue. Get the white chair covers (something like below).  Then get a sash that is shiny/satin. And to dress up the table, get silver charger plates. Your venue might have them or a linen company may have them. Charger plates dress up white table clothes and is cheaper than renting colored linens. And i agree that the one might be too shiny. My colors are purple and silver and I thought that the satin linens were too shiny so I got plum crushed taffita instead of plum satin…too shiny for me.

@parixaIn my humble opinion there is no bigger waste of money than chair covers. None. Do the covers act as cushions as well to make the chairs more comfortable? No. Do you remember anything at all about the chairs at the last wedding you attended? Probably not. Can the guests see what colors the chairs are while they are sitting on them? No. Chairs are only of any purpose when they are being sat on. Please, save yourself the money and the stress and ditch the chair covers.

I purchased all of my chair covers, in satin, both ivory & black. I bought the universal chair covers because I wasn’t sure what type of chairs I was using at the time.

I think they are great – Very high quality.. they are shiny but they certainly don’t look like plastic.

Is there another chair option, like perhaps white wooden chairs?  We rented the simplest white chair possible, and they looked nice plus they were the cheapest option.  They looked like this, and most rental compaines offer them:

I really don’t like the silver chair covers you linked.  I think that’ll look worse than the hotel chairs.  If you do go with chair covers, go with white.  It’s really hard for people outside the royal family to pull off fancy things like silver chair covers.  It’s best to go with simple than fancy, and there’s quite a bit of elegance in simplicity.  I also think that when it comes to renting, going with white is the cheapest and safest option.  You never know what weirdness you’ll get when you opt for color options.  You can still have colorful accents in your centerpieces.

@parixa:  I used linentablecloth – I’ve used them for almost all the linens i’ve purchased.

They have 20% off sales often, as well as free shipping on orders over $50.

@parixa:  Let me just say that I understand the want for chair covers/nice chairs. I had to give that up because of budget though.

Also, I think if you use the white tablecloths from the venue, it’ll look good and free up a budget for chair covers. I’d go with the cheaper ones though.

Unimportant side note, your wedding is on birthday! Yay! haha
