I would then get a quote on the other ring. I am not sure about radiant’s with that. I would personally go with both brilliant cushion’s, OEC’s or modern rounds. If you want sparkle, modern rounds is the way to go. You can get a quote from the jeweler I use in LA and he should be able to price it out in lab and natural for you. I would save this ring maybe for an anniversary unless you have the budget to do so. His email is [email protected]. You can also try David Klass [email protected]. No reason you can’t have both. I would do one of them with a cheaper vendor so you can have both for a little more then the cost of one.
I think you have some good options & sometimes having a ring custom made can sometimes be cheaper then buying a branded piece because you are not paying for the name. Both of the vendors I mentioned have done very high end pieces but I find their prices to be so much more affordable then what I have paid on the East coast I don’t know if radiant’s are the best look unless with that style band unless they are slightly elongated because if they are on the smaller size, they are not going to look that different then a cushion. Cushion’s are much easier to find in mined or lab diamonds right now. Getting other shapes in smaller lab diamonds is still relatively a new thing and I can’t say I have seen any radiant shapes yet. Maybe recreating something like this below with radiants’s, would give you more ‘wow’ factor.
It doesn’t seem like you are fully convinced on the modern band. Instead of having a blue and diamond one, you might even consider just a straight radiant eternity or 7 stone ring I think that works in your budget and would make a great right hand ring or give you the ‘wow’ factor from something that is brilliant in cut like these 2 carat or 3 carat pieces. Once you get up to 4 carats, you are in the $5000’s but a 3 carat and the halo ring from Tianyu in all lab diamond & gemstones would keep you in that budget. Good luck in your search and please update the thread!
I’m going to update both of my threads on this, since some people may be on one and not the other. I received an initial mockup of Ring B together with a version of my ring. This is with a US jeweler. It is a 7 stone ring, with 4 – 4mm sapphires and 3 – 4x2mm baguette diamonds on 14k white gold. The band will be 3-4mm minimum at the back. I am asking the designer to see if it is possible to substitute elongated radiants for the baguettes to increase the sparkle but I’ve not decided on that just yet. What do you ladies think? You’ve been so helpful thus far, and I’d like brutal honesty please since I’ve never done custom before. I have untrained eyes! Thank you!! ❤🙏🏾
Just wanted to reiterate that this ring is meant to be a wedding band alternative or RHR. The designer just put the CAD together with my ring for some reason and I don’t have a separate one to share. I also invite opinions on how they look together though! 😊
Update: We just paid the deposit for what I decided to move forward with – a gorgeous oval and cushion cut RHR or alternative wedding band. The wax model will be sent next week. I’m so excited!! 🥳❤🤩
UPDATE: I decided to go with the 4mm cushion sapphires and 4x3mm oval diamonds on a 14k gold band. After approving the CAD, my husband coordinated with the jeweler so I didn’t lay eyes on the finished ring until he gifted it to me for our 3rd anniversary on Monday. I think it turned out SO amazing! Thank you for all of your insight and input, ladies!! I have such a stunning piece because of your kind advice along the way. 🤩💙🙏🏾💍
