This is my first time posting, so hopefully I do this the “right” way! I apologize if its alot of reading and pictures…
I know I am probably overthinking this but I am having the hardest time on my bridesmaids dresses like should the dresses be short or long, does the fabric clash, should they have similiar neckline like my dress or no, and if no what would look best, and I’m set on having taupe color but what shade would be most complimentary to my dress with it just dark enough to stand out from my dress but not so light as to wash my girls out. Its driving me crazy!
My girls have not tried on dresses yet, but hopefully will be doing so within next few weeks. I thought it would be good to get some opinions so I can have a good idea on what other styles I want them to try on, though I do have a look in mind I’m not sure if it works with my dress.
One slight dilema is that my Maid/Matron of Honor is size 16-18 which I guess maybe considered plus size and is very sensitive about her body image and I want to her to be comfortable and feel good about how she looks in her dress. I know if it flatters her it will be fine on my other girls who are every size in between down to a size 2. Except where we are going to try dresses on only carry up to size 10ish in store as samples to try on.
How do I tell her this without hurting her feelings? I still want her to be there being she is my best friend and her opinion matters to me.
Any tips on what materials and styles of dresses are flattering for plus size?
Picture below is of my dress (though picture is not of me):
Champagne Satin with Ivory Lace Overlay
These dresses below are my inspiration! Are long dresses ok for end of August wedding being a light flowy material?? Ceremony is outdoors in afternoon and Reception is indoors where we will most likely be most of rest of evening.
Here are few dresses I like but will be in a taupe color…
And on the short side…. (I would probably add 5″ length so they are past knees)
Opinions please! Sorry again about length of post!
