I want to help you but I really wouldn’t know where to start!  I think your best bet would to be to go to the fabric store and ask someone who works there!  🙂

Bumping this… I have uggo valances that I can’t stand. Anyone combat this problem at their venue? My mom and fiance say I should just forget them, and I did for a while, but getting close to our date, I remembered, and DAMN they are ugly. Like who put those up? Really now…

peanut88:  If they bother you so much that you have to do something about them, you could have someone who sews make long strips of a heavier weight fabric (you don’t want anything too light and see-through) measured to fit across the front and the return to the wall if it is visible.

You can use 3M velcro strips to attach it to the valance- holds well and easily removeable.
