Okay, oily skin: you need to moisturize, moisturize. Wash your face (massage cleanser into wet skin, remove with a wet washcloth for gentle exfoliation) and apply moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Go do something, like eat breakfast, and then apply your moisturizer again. Do your hair, then do your makeup.

Hair: how you start depends on your hair type. My hair falls flat in two seconds if it’s dirty–I don’t care what my hair dresser says. If you can get away with it, just wash your hair the night before. If not, wash your hair the morning of, put in some good products like Organix argan oil and Redken Satinwear. Spray a little Redken Guts at the roots around your crown and blowdry your hair section by section from the bottom up. Then (or if you’re doing dirty hair), section your hair off again, starting from the bottom, and spray the section with a thermal protector/setting spray (I like Biolage Thermal Setting Spray, but Redken Hot Sets is great, too) then curl in 1″ sections. Set each curl while it’s still hot by clipping it (with these), OR if you have a set of hot rollers, do that instead and leave the rollers in. Do your makeup and then come back and carefully remove the rollers or clips from each curl, starting at the bottom. Style your hair however, but try not to pull the curls out. Finish with a good hairspray (I like Redken Control Addict). A lot of Redken stuff you can get trial sizes of. 🙂

Makeup: Primers are your friend. Start with a clean, moisturized face like I said above. After your curls are done, start with a good face primer. I know some ladies swear by Monistat. Then apply your foundation. I swear by Everyday Minerals because it doesn’t have a lot of crap in it like Bare Minerals does. Your makeup will have to be much heavier than you would wear on a daily basis in order to show up in pictures, so don’t be afraid to layer it on. I love ELF makeup, especially their mineral shadows and lid primer. I can do my makeup at 7:30AM, go to work, come home and work out, eat dinner, and then take a shower around 8 and it’s still in place, no creasing, no wearing off.

I absolutely LOVE MissChevious.tv and her gorgeous makeup tutorials. I think this one would be really pretty for a sunrise beach look. As for hair ideas, The Small Things Blog has tons of really cute hair tutorials!
