jenn0111:  if you are on a tight budget you might want to reconsider a 275 person guest list. When you are on a budget you need to make sacrafices. Having a wedding in NYC on a $25-$30K budgrt is possible but may not be possible for 275 people.

I would suggest looking into Women’s Clubs, they are basically a shell, the wedding hall but without the full package. You will have to have food catered, hire a bartender, rent linens. The good thing is that there are some beautiful women’s clubs.

look into DIY for centerpieces, bouquets, bouts, and corsages

skip favors if necessary.

dont spend a crazy amount on a dress

rent a tux, dont buy.

I can suggest an affordable photographer and videographer, Le Image Inc, they have a bunch of low cost packages for weddings ajd include a lot. They did my wedding and i loved them. Its very rare to find a photographer in NY for under $4K

I know of one hall in LI that has an all inclusive package called Arianna Waterfalls, check it out, might not be what you are looking for but its worth a shot with your budget.

Also consider the day you want your wedding- weddings on a friday evening, saturday afternoon or sunday afternoon are cheaper. You will pay a lot more for a saturday night wedding

jenn0111:  To give you some reference, I’m having a very small (20 person) wedding in New Jersey, about 15 miles west of Manhattan (we live in nyc too). I’m having it in a family backyard, then going to a local restaurant. I have no bridal party, my dad is the officiant, no rental cars, no honeymoon included, and I’m a super budget shopper. I’m also getting married in the morning with a lunch reception, and on a Thursday. It’s still going to cost around $7,500.

There’s no way you can have that number of people in this area for that amount unless you can get A LOT of stuff for free (venues, photographer, food, etc.). Trim that list to 90-100 and you can do it.

I think it’s doable. If you don’t mind being out on Long Island, check out Lessings. They have a few all inclusive packages that may work for you. Also check out liweddings.com, the ladies are really helpful!

Why don’t you have it outside nyc? There are so many great places in upstate ny that are way cheaper than having a wedding in nyc.

jenn0111:  i think your best bet is to get prices on a venue, bc thats going to be your biggest expense. Your budget is $25-$30K for everything, thats tight for NYC,

I had a 167 person wedding, and I paid $27K just for the venue alone, and that was cheap! It was $125 per person before taxes/gratuity, after tax and gratuity it really comes out to $160 a head.

There is a place in Staten Island called The Renaissance that is affordable, we didnt choose this place bc it wasnt our style. 2 years ago we went to get a price and it was under $100. You might have some luck checking out Staten Island venues.

Realistically if you are looking for a traditonal weddig venue, you are going to be spending at least $100 per person, and thats not including ta, and that already puts you at $20K with 200 people. That leaves you with $5-$10 for everything else (flowers, DJ, dress, tux, honeymoon if you plan on taking one)

I would suggest making a guest list, and then from that lizt you write down the people who need to be invited. And then have a list of maybe’s, dont go into debt for a wedding. Weddings in NY are $$$,

jenn0111:  No that’s not true. Tribeca Rooftop is one of the pricer NYC venues. Especially for the amount of people you are having. Go check out venues in Long island.

jenn0111:  long island is not cheap either. I found that they were more $$$ than brooklyn.

Arianna is in LI and they have affordable packages.

jenn0111:  why don’t you Try NJ they have some pretty affordable vendors. Where I am getting married The fiesta and it’s pretty affordable we are paying $76 that’s inclusing tax and gratuity for a seat down dinner they work with your budge. It’s about 45 to 50 minutes from BK. you can have a wedding with your budget her in Nj you just have to look for the right venue.
