My dream dress was also mermaid with a dramatic bottom.  I loved the look of tulle and horse hair bottoms so I ended up with this dress by Morilee, but in ivory:https://www.morilee.com/product/bridal-wedding-dresses/morilee/marguerit-wedding-dress/

I had some dress regret after purchasing (see my most previous post lol) mostly due to it not fitting.  All of the dresses I have tried on have been way too big, but I’m hoping I will fall in love with it again once it comes in ๐Ÿ™‚  I don’t know what you’re budget is but this dress was $1,299.  Pretty much all of the dresses I tried were around this price range.

Jasmine Collection dresses are often under $1,500, although some of the newer styles and the Couture dresses are a bit pricier.  I had the same problem–trying on dresses that were 4 sizes too big and just swamped me made it so difficult to imagine myself in the dress. It really helped to have a senior consultant pin me at the sides and shoulders as well, not just at the back. Good luck!

dantine17 :  My dress was the Maggie Sottero Sahara.  It is such a stunning dress. Mine had a corset back but I have seen some online with the buttons down the back. The bottom of the dress is more puffy then it is in the photo on the webpage https://www.maggiesottero.com/maggie-sottero/sahara/4985

Now, I see the dress is discontinued, but you may be able to buy it preowned.

dantine17 :  is this pouffy enough for you?

Allure 9358 – I’d say it would sell for around $1500-1800.

Definitely look into Mori Lee! Absolutely gorgeous gowns for really amazing prices. I thought I would end up with a Mori Lee mermaid because I basically love every one of their dresses but ended up with an Alfred Angelo sample for a wicked deal.

I would also recommend you find a salon in your area that only sells sample gowns. Not because you should buy a sample but because they will have dresses in all sizes and you can try on a dress that actually fits you and it will give you a much better idea of how a dress will look in your size. My first appointment was at a store in Las Vegas (I was on vacation there) that only sold sample gowns and it was a GREAT first experience being able to try on dresses that fit me almost perfectly off the rack and I’m a bridal size 16 currently.

cjm18 :  I am in loveeee with that dress! I’m not engaged yet, but the ring has been purchased and a date is set so I haven’t gone to try it on. Do you have any pictures of it in person?

If you have a bridal shop near you that carries Casablanca, they will make custom changes to their gowns. If they have something that you mostly like, maybe with a few tweaks it could be perfect?!
