Please help me! I only have a little over a month and a half before the wedding!
I was planning to buy my fiance a beautiful watch as a groom’s gift. Last night at dinner with future Mother-In-Law, she gives him a GORGEOUS watch!!
Don’t know what to get! He doesnt drink or smoke so there’s no fave drink or cigars to consider…
Considered boudior photos but super confused on when to give them to him and if I should be there when he opens – awkward to just stand there while he gawks…

mrsrhodes9615: I got mine a tablet. Does your Fiance like technology stuff?

@dojx He does but we don’t have wifi and another data plan is out of the question… I had budgeted for a one-time expense… a couple hundred $

I am doing boudoir photos, hopefully in a little book, and I think I will give it to him the night before, after the rehearsal. I have also heard of brides giving their grooms the book the morning of and having the photographer capture his reaction, but logistically I’m Not sure how in our day it would get to him, so I’m going with the night before!

I am making a beautiful diary for my Fiance. I’ve been working on it since very soon after our engagement. I write in it everyday – little things about why I love him or how he made me feel when he said something or describing our first dates or or engagement. Sometimes the posts are really short and other times they are long. I think with a month to the wedding, this is something that you could do. I do love the boudoir photo shoot idea too.

mrsrhodes9615: Oh no! What hobbies or interests does he have? My Fiance has been wanting a specific new shotgun for well over a year now, that’s what I got him for his gift, ha.
What about sunglasses? It sounds weird, but a nice pair of sunglasses is always great to have.

julies1949: He likes surfing and golf – we live in myrtle beach, sc so both of those arent that hard to do for him. He basically can do them whenever he wants
He does but we don’t have wifi and another data plan is out of the question… I had budgeted for a one-time expense… a couple hundred $

I haven’t decided what I’m getting yet, but here’s my list of ideas so far:
- either DSLR camera or waterproof digital camera
- boudoir shoot
- groom’s cake
- really nice sunglasses
- scuba gear
- road bike
- nice watch or Apple watch (I know the nice watch is already out for you though)
- some sort of art
- nice fishing rod & reel (Penn International reel if that means anything to you – you can get them engraved too)
- signed sports memorabilia
- commemorative brick on a road in the town we live in with our names and wedding date
- an experience – fishing charter, tickets to an auto race, etc.
I may end up doing two of these things so there would be a sentimental gift and a fun gift. I know a lot of these options are pretty specific to my Fiance and his hobbies, but hopefully they’ll help you come up with your own ideas!

Normally the groom receives his gift before the wedding while he is getting ready (usually a groomsmen or family member will deliver it). So you wouldn’t have to be there when he opend boudoir photos however I have watched many of my brides wedding videos, I am a bride consultant side note, and noticed the guy opens the photos while getting ready with his groomsmen so others may see it lol.
I plan on getting my SO a set of rocking chairs that say Mr. & Mrs. we have always talked about growing old and sitting on our porch with our rockers so it fits. See if you can think back on anything like that you may have talked about. Something romantic and tailored to your relationship.

onthefritz: Ironically he and Mother-In-Law were talking last night about him getting his granddad’s pistol soon… And he loves shades but I don’t really know the style he likes. He has a few kinds and whatever I get I’m concerned it will look like the others. Also worried about it not really being special enough…

mrsrhodes9615: I was in the same boat as you, kinda….. Was set on getting him a watch, but he wantrd the apple watch so bad and preordered it. So on to my next idea….
At the 100 days to go mark, I bought I 100 page journal and have been writing in it everyday ‘100 reasons in 100 days of why I love FI’ and then I am going to get him a pair of nice sunglasses with a note that says ‘because our future is so bright!’
Good luck, Bee!

Stumbled upon this post, as it’s a month old you’ve probably already decided. But with the golf/surfing interests, a really nice pair of sunglasses, you can get them customize with his name (I know Oakley does this, not sure about anyone else).
