In the Kansas City area- would LOVE to find a place locally that would have a dress like this available. Ideally would like to stay under $200, so if you have an idea for a ‘non-bridal’ dress that would work too!
Straps would be preferable. Small, athletically built person.
To other bees who have gone this route – have you been able to find dresses locally or have you had to order them online and hope they fit?
Thank you guys SO much for your help!

@sweetpea3363: Macy’s has a good selection of white cocktail dresses. If you want something longer to go over it, look on etsy for a tulle skirt that you can tie over it. There was a pin on pinterest (sorry I didn’t pin it, I just looked at it) where a girl had done this and it was beautiful. Kind of made me wish I had gone that route it was so cute.

Thanks ladies! Keep going! I’m trying to help my best friend in her quest.

Ditto on Macys or Nordstroms. You can order and try them on at home!! I went that route b/c I also wanted (and ended up wearing) a cocktail length dress. Nordstroms also has free shipping each way, so there’s no reason not to just have a fashion show in your bedroom 🙂
Ann Taylor and JCrew also have some great shorter options.
I ended up getting a discontinued Alfred Angelo dress. I’m pretty sure it’s from their now-defunct Little White Dress collection, b/c I haven’t been able to find a single picture of it online.
I love that more ladies are rocking the short dresses. For some of us, a big gown just isn’t “us”, and isn’t it all about feeling like yourself on your big day?
Good luck–and post some pictures! 🙂
