I would love some input on my theme. Like many women, I love Jane Austen and my fiance was reading “Pride and Prejudice” when we first met.
I do NOT want to try to replicate a Pride and Prejudice wedding. I want elements that are inspired by Jane Austen and her novels. In case it helps, my wedding colors are silver, pink and purple.
This is what I have so far my indoor ceremony and reception in March 2012
My ceremony and reception site
Table numbers: Use Jane Austen novels and characters instead of just numbers.
Centerpieces: Maybe use spring seasonal flowers to achieve a wildflower look?
Invite: Floral motif
Envelope liner: Custom created with our favorite “Pride and Prejudice” quotes written in script
I welcome the input and I really don’t want to go overboard. I just want allusions to the theme.

Milk Vases, Polished Silver, Parasols… =)
Vintage Chic I’d say!

We did books for our centerpieces! Each table had it’s own genre of books, along with a tea cup candle and a bud vase. On our table numbers, we wrote an explanation of the genre and why we chose it (ie. Poetry because Darling Husband has always loved/read it)
We loved this part of our wedding and a lot of guests commented on how they liked it and learned a lot about a variety of authors/genres that they had never read before. You could totally do something similar with Jane Austen and similar authors from about the same time period (Charlotte Bronte, Emily Bronte, Louisa May Alcott, Emily Dickenson, Daphne de Maurier, etc.)

I wish I could do this. But Fiance is so not a fan of books at all. I will be walking down the aisle to the theme from Masterpiece Theater. I will have a lot of lilac and pink colors in the reception.. candles and flowers. I will have some of my books tied with nice ribbons on the table. However, the reception tables and escort cards are all FI’s. I know he wouldn’t want to see Wuthering Heights or Little Women as table settings 🙁

I totally love this theme!! Your venue is perfect for it. Very romantic, soft touches. Lace details. Very vintage. So awesome.

I might just do the books with votive candles. I have a miniscule flower budget right now. Can’t decide if I should do plain votives
DIY lace votives
DIY vellum votives

The envelope liner is great. What about using some the lines for your vows? I love you most ardently… etc.
