hi ladies! please bear with me on this long one..
So we’ve decided on a place we want to have our wedding and reception. however the lady didnt want to budge on lowering the minimums on a Sunday. She said I have to have 100 guest minimum or else we’d be charged for those people anyway. I tried hard but she said she couldn’t because her staffers are coming in on a Sunday and already incurring overtime. Fine. We’ll have to invite 20 more people than originally expected. Now I’d like to try to cut costs somewhere else. Has anyone successfully negotiated something? I think MissQnomore did? Or was it someone else? I’ particularly would like to get our corkage fee ($10 per bottle) waived or halved. Or maybe waive the chair cover fee (sooo annoying those chair cover fees!). I’ve always been a good negotiator because its always been that I’ll leave it if I can’t get the price i want. But here, I really want it and won’t leave it. So I need to know how to negotiate. Also, what else can i try to negotiate? Maybe some free hor de voirs? I need ideas and tips and advice! Thanks!
