It took us forever to decide on bridesmaid dresses and now I’m not sure what will go best with my BM’s long aubergine bridesmaid dresses:
It would be super easy to go to Men’s Wearhouse and have all of our guys rent something. The wedding above used MW grey tuxes which I think works well:
The only problem is I’m not sure the style. They don’t look like the Vera Wang tuxes….any ideas?
My fiance isn’t crazy about tuxes and since you can’t tailor rentals sometimes they come out looking ill-fitted and baggy. We’re thinking about having our Groomsmen buy custom suits from Indochino since they are a better deal. (Has anyone used them before?) My only question is what color? Navy? Charcoal? Would black be too strong with aubergine dresses? I think navy looks pretty go
But maybe charcoal would be better?
What do you think? Navy or Charcoal? We’re having an evening wedding in December and want it to be on the semi-formal side. We’re also using a lavender theme. Thanks so much!

I would do charcoal for a December wedding.

I voted charcoal. The only time I ever see navy suits is on business men. Plus I personally think it looks weird to wear black shoes with a navy suit, and how many guys have a pair of brown or navy dress shoes lying around?

Thank you! I feel so much better having that decided! Has anyone had any experience with Indochino or Black Lapel?

@lil_possum: If a man has only one suit, the best colours are, in order, navy blue, and charcoal grey. Black shoes are the only formal option, period, regardless of the colour of the garments. They are entirely correct with a navy suit, and look great as long as they’re polished. Brown is the least formal colour of shoe.

You should go with the custom suits from indochino. We TRIED to do this with our groosmen but it fell through because the ndochino consultant mixed things up. What I would suggest for you is to create a master account with them, create sub-accounts with the groomsmen and have indochino send everyone paypal invoices (broken up into payments) for the groomsmen. Not everyone may be able to shell out the $350 in one shot.
I think charcoal would look much better and you could have the groomsmen get brown or mahogany (red/brownish) shoes + belt.

Charcoal, all the way. I love this look! I’ve had it pinned to my Pinterest board for a while, but Fiance really wants to wear a tux.
