I just found out the reception hall we have booked is registered historic building (a boathouse) and we are not allowed to hang any decorations with any sort of fasteners. Which I believe leaves only tables for me to decorate? There’s not a creative bone in my body, so I was hoping you ladies would have some awesome ideas for decoraions? I’m so bummed we can’t hang anything, but it’s already booked and paid for….so I have to work with it now. Any suggestions-would be so appreciated! Thank you!!

What is your theme, style, colors and/or vibe you are wanting to create for your wedding?
Are you allowed to use the Command Strips to hang things since they come right off without any damage to the walls?

No theme….we are doing a white&gray/silver possibly with just a pop of color here and there, not sure. (possibly coral, maybe yellow)
I like the whole chic/rustic trend. The venue is old and all woodwork. I like the lace/burlap,tulle/twine combonations that seem to be popular now.
The command strips are a good idea! I will have to call and ask…but I do have a feeling that they will say no. They seem very strict.

@wonderfalk: Can you post a pic of your venue? Might help to see what you are working with!

All you really need is your table decor. Linens, candles ( if allowed) and your centerpieces will give you all the decor you need.
