I’m having a really hard time coming up with a meaningful wedding day gift for our 5 year old son. I would like for it to be some sort of a keepsake, but that is not very interesting or fun for a little boy… Any suggestions?

@mzjules: You could put all your handprints around a frame with a picture of you all in it. You could also put something like… “The day our family became whole” and the wedding date then he can hang it in his room. Or even in plaster of paris but I think the frame will be less likely to break with a 5 year old boy running around! Good luck!

Instead of a physical gift, how about the gift of time? Around the wedding, could you take an afternoon to go to the zoo/swimming/arcade, etc? He’d probably appreciate the “fun family” time.
but I understand wanting an actual keepsake. framed picture for his bedroom? honestly not sure what else. hmm… i’ll keep thinking

I’m not sure why you want a gift that is “NOT VERY INTERESTING OR FUN FOR A LITTLE BOY”, unless you mean you want something he will value when he is older.
What about a share in a company that is somehow connected to his interests, the wedding, your family, etc? I have given kids shares in Disney, Dreamworks etc.

@julies1949: I think what she means is that a keepsake isn’t very interesting for a 5 year old, so she’s not sure what to do.
@mzjules: We have a 6 year old son, and I am in the same situation. He’s very excited and I want to do something meaninful for him, but I can’t think of anything that he will appreciate. I like the idea of the hand prints. My photographer is also going to do a mini photo shoot where he is the main focus, just 10-15 minutes. We’ll probably let him choose a photo and frame it for his room. Other than that, I’m stumped.
