I actually like the Shane Co ring. I think it looks nice with your ering!

Same here, I love the shane co ring. Looks like it was made for your halo, the color is a little off but I like it. Maybe you could order it in another k? I.e. If its 18 order 14?

sarahalmostmartin:  I would for sure go with the shaneco band. It looks like it was made for your ring. No one is going to notice that the the diamonds don’t line up perfectly, and it’s not something you would even see when looking at your rings from the top. But if it really bothers you that much then you could have one custom made based off of this design.

sarahalmostmartin:  I really prefer straight wedding bands over curved so honestly, I would go to a private, long-established and super reputable local jeweler (not Jared!) and have them either raise the existing halo setting so that a straight band will sit flush; or have them replace the halo basket altogether with one that sits higher.

If you’re not comfortable with that then I would have them cut a notch into the halo basket so that a straight eternity band would fit right in and sit flush. It’s very easy and inexpensive for jewelers to do.

I just ordered a horseshoe band to try out (etsy FTW!) and if I like it I will get it done properly by my jeweler to match my 18k rose gold.  But I will be using it as a spacer, with a straight wedding band to go along side.  Love the gap on some people but looks weird on my short chubby fingers!  I really really did not want to cut my basket and I don’t like the look of the curved band on me either – it makes my halo look off balanced and I don’t like that lol.  Picky, 1st world problem I know!

I got my horseshoe band in today, and I love it, so glad I went for it.  The colour actually matches really close, so may just keep it and look for a wedding band closer to our actual wedding.  Here’s a pic of how mine sits!

finallybride: Your horseshoe ring seems like such a great solution! I had never thought of that. Do you mind sharing which Etsy shop you got it from? And maybe another picture of the top view of your rings together if you have one? ๐Ÿ™‚

ivy3838:   I got it from a shop called Lotus Stone Jewelry, I sent her pictures and exact measurements and she had it made and shipped within 2 days.  Really high quality, really easy to communicate with!

Of course I will share more of my ring ๐Ÿ˜€  This is my ring, spacer and plain band:

finallybride: Thanks so much! Your rings look great together. What a great find! My ering has a similar halo basket, except in a cushion shape and I have been trying to think of a creative way to be able to wear a straight band with it, so I think this spacer might be my solution!

ivy3838:  Thank you!  I can’t take all of the credit, I found a picture of a more elaborate horseshoe wedding band here on the bee and researched from there!  The spacer works perfectly for me as I want to be able to wear a straight band on it’s own.  There is a slight gap still if you look closely because of the small split shank but I don’t notice it.  Good luck, share pics when you decide what you want – and of just your engagement ring!

finallybride: I just received my spacer from the Etsy shop and it fits great! Thanks for the recommendation, I’m so excited about it! Now I can look for a simple straight band to go with my ering ๐Ÿ™‚

sarahalmostmartin:  I like the band you found from Shane Co!  It really does look like it belongs with your ring and I don’t think anyone is going to think anything about the diamonds going down farther on the band then your ER.  When you point it out, I can notice that the 2 golds don’t match, but until you said something I didn’t notice. Maybe as a PP suggested you can get that band made in a gold that matches your ring a little better, but if not, it looks great as is.
