I would return the ring that bothers you and keep the new one! You can put that money towards your wedding or your wedding band!

Iloveyoumostest:  When rubber meets the road, its just a ring. If you can’t wear it, return it and put the money towards something else. If you are really sentimental(I totally am), you can keep the sapphire and wear it on a chain around your neck. I do that with my first engagement ring that is an opal.

You can wear your dainty sapphire as a stand in until your diamond is ready. It would probably be more practical for work anyway. My diamond ering is a .25 for that reason, and it works very well for every day wear!

Iloveyoumostest:  return the sapphire ring while you still can!! Love the other one. I wonder what the polar ice inscription means? Is that a type of specialty cut??

Yes, Polar Ice are Canadian diamonds, I am in Canada too and I agree and they are amazing!! You’re a lucky girl πŸ™‚

They’re more expensive and higher quality… no wonder it sparkles like thet!! I think you got an amazing deal on that ring… I envy you! You’ll be able to wear it all the time and isnt that what you want of your engagment ring? Maybe mention to your Fiance that you’ll miss the sentimental value of the huge sapphire ring and when the new ring is re-sized and ready to wear he can suprise you and propose again? Maybe you can stay out of the re-sizing process (or at least knowing the time-frames) so when it happens it’ll be a bit of a surprise? Then that way you can return the other ring and it wont be so heartbraking. I am sentimental too. but if you cant afford to keep it for that reason only then retun it and make special memories with this new one πŸ˜‰ good luck!! we wanna see pics when its all polished up and wearable!

Iloveyoumostest:  Even though the sapphire ring is beautiful, I would return it simply because you are having allergic reactions to it. Otherwise I’d say wear it as a RHR and just save up for a while for your ultimate final ring, but if you can’t really even wear it, then there’s not much point. I do have one other suggestion though, and that would be to save the sapphire ring and have the stone set into a necklace sometime in the future. If you are planning to buy your final ring soon, I probably wouldn’t have suggested getting a new placeholder anyways. Your new placeholder ring is beautiful and if it’s similar to what you want in the future anyways, I’d suggest wearing it for longer than you planned and just saving up. Then you can keep the sapphire ring and make another piece of jewelry with it. By keeping the sapphire ring but making something else out of it, you are keeping the emotions of the proposal but maybe getting rid of anything negative that happened during that time (that you associate with the ring).

Def return the sapphire ring! I love love love the new ring! You got a great deal on it! Just think of it like this, the new ring is an expensive great quality Canadian diamond AND 18k gold for the same price as the halo ring that is much lower quality metal and stone wise That is breaking your skin out. It’s a no brainer, return the original before the return period is up! I was also faced with almost the same situation except the ring we bought at the chain jeweler was very expensive and I did love it but I found an amazing deal on the classifieds(craigslist) for better quality much cheaper than the chain jewelery store ring we had just bought sooo I returned the expensive chain store ring and used only half the money for the new better quality ring and although I did love the chain store ring I havnt had any regrets taking it back for the better deal/quality ring.

Return it while you can… If it’s reactive to you, what would you do with it? Your new ring is so pretty! May Fiance can stage a cute re-proposal with that to create a memory.
