That’s a tough one without knowing what they’re into.  I know sometimes people don’t like games at parties, but I’ve had a lot of fun at a couple I’ve been to that organized some of the Minute to Win it Games.  I really liked the Oreo on the forehead one, and the one with the tea bags hanging from a ball cap – hilarious.  Not sure if that might be an option.  Good luck with the planning!

Have a few options on hand if its a mixed group you don’t know well.  Some party games like pictionary, Cranium, etc can be a big hit especially if you can come up with a prize- even something simple like two movie tickets or a starbucks gift card.  An area for guests to hang out and chat, and some food is all you really need.  A small homemade photobooth area can be great too- you can keep it as simple as a digital camera and some thrift store props, but it can be a great way for guests to enjoy themself.

If they like dancing they could do a dance party? My 19th birthday we did like a “virgin club” idea.We had virgin daquires and put little umbrellas in them. We taped of a dance floor and had black lights and baught glow sticks from the dollar store. It was super fun. We did it in the back yard but one of my friends did a dancing party an didnt have a big backyard so she just moved all the furniture in the living room.
