…ok, so my Mum really wanted to go dress shopping with me and my sister, which in hindsight probably wasnt the wisest decision. She was excited but my God was she devastatingly blunt about everything I tried on!! From the big thighs to the overspill of ‘back-fat’, it wasnt exactly a confidence building session. The second shop I went into I found a great dress (Aire Barcelona, Priscilla) that I loved and felt was ‘the one’. Its the one pictured here with the roses all over the bustline.
Thing is..my Mother really doesnt like it, and told me after we left the shop. My sister thinks its gorgeous.
After weeks of looking for something I’d like as much, we went into a store – my Mother saw a dress on a mennequin. Didnt really appeal until it was on – then I was quite blown away. I was relieved something looked good on, and it has a beautiful train. I’m thinking of a chapel length veil on either one. I’m irritated that she found a really beautiful contender! Because now Im finding it really hard to chose.
I love the Roses dress, but I’m really liking the soft organza of the devinci gown, I dont know. My fiancee has been rolling his eyes, saying theres harder choices in the world, but this is my wedding dress!!
Any help out there!?

It is your wedding…so you shoudl choose the dress you feel most lovely and comfortable in. Which do you feel the best in?

2nd dress. i dont really like the rosettes on the bust. i also think the 2nd one is more flattering.
you should add a poll.

Make a poll! I like dress 1 a lot better.. Its gorgeous on you and plus its YOUR wedding and in the end your mom will be happy no matter what.

LOVE the 2nd dress on you. I actually almost bought that one for myself! Beautiful and classic DaVinci gown!

Personally, I think both of these beautiful dresses do not do enough for your figure. I think something that emphasizes your waist would be beautiful on you. The second one does that more than the first, but not enough.
PS. back fat is an issue of alterations, not dress, so ignore you mother on that one!

maybe add a poll? Im going through the same thing with my thread (named the same thing lol)
i would pick dress 2 it looks more soft and romantic to me
good luck and congratulations

Wow!! This is getting really interesting! Didnt think id get such a quick response. Love the roses dress as it felt amazing, but now mother darling has thrown a spanner in the mix with dress no.2! Which i like quite a lot – grr!! Going to keep my eyes on the polls. Thanks to those who have told me to go with the dress that ‘feels right’.
Im going to sleep as its 12.30 (Dublin) – maybe I’ll subliminally ‘know’ when I wake up!

Maybe the roses are hard to appreciate in the picture but I say the second one all-the-way.

I think the roses on the bust of the first make the dress look too busy up top, so I voted for the 2nd one.

@mrsSonthebeach: I have to agree. You have a lovely figure but I don’t think either of these dresses do anything for you. I would find something that doesn’t have as many 3-d elements and emphasizes your waist. I think these dresses are sort of shapeless and drown your body.

@mrsSonthebeach: I have to second both of those comments. I do feel like your mother is much closer with dress #2, but I’d love to see you in something even more simple than dress #2. I’m not sure the ripples in the skirt are doing much for you!

I like them both but lean toward 2. I agree since they both look great wear what’s more you!

I also like both but #2 is my favorite. I almost went with a dress that is very similar to that one.
